It is very easy to see how much they adore each other. Thanks guys for letting me help out with the wedding! I will see you August 1st!

Temples here and Temples there

I  got to go to the  Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple open house- It was really cool. This is one of two temples that have been recently built in the Salt Lake Valley. I also got the chance to also walk through the Draper Utah Temple. Both are beautiful. Very different temples. The height of Oquirrh Moutain is a little deceiving. It is not very large inside- Provo Utah temple is larger, but it looks spectacular.

My aunt and uncle live just a few miles from the new temple. I have been driving up there for the last two years or so. It has been really neat to see the progress in building a remarkable house of the Lord.

Oquirrh Mountain is the tallest building around it. In fact- this last sat, it was struck by lightning in a rainstorm. It blackened the end of Angel Moroni's trump.

The recent temple extravaganzas- both Draper and Oquirrh Mountain and a Manti trip, and of corse Provo makes me really excited to go through the Houston temple this next month!

Manti (PS- I took this Picture- one of my favorites)

Its a Bird, its a plane... no no... it really is a plane.

So,  a little while ago I went to Ogden to see the Hill Base Air Force show. It was really cool (not to mention it is in my mission).  But, just as fun as it was to watch all the planes, it was also kinda fun to watch all the people that an air force show attracts.  Strange people come out when you tell them you get to see an f-16 fly by.

There was a zipper in the back of the costume, and this little kid was trying to unzip it. HA

It looks like a shark....

A really big shark.

Classic Jordan

This kid was funny. His name was Daniel. We are buddies.

This smile never left Jordan's face.

Neither did this one.

Look Jordan, I can fly too.

The Nieces and Nephew

So, we were up at Aunt Julies house for Jaceys Orchestra concert. Naturally, I brought my camera. I couldn't help but to take some shots of the little ones (and the dog).  They are adorable!

The dog Chester

Anastasia and Ereland... yes they match... .always!

Oh Yeah...

I tend to just post everything at once. So, as I was going through my pictures of fun things from this last year, I came across these pictures.

Todd and I went to Dining Out, the Air Force ROTC Ball.  It has been a while since we took these pictures ( Dining Out was during Winter Semester)  but oh well, girls always like a good reason to get dressed up- and to post them.

Todd is such a great friend, listening, trainer, home teacher, and all around great guy!

Ski the Scum

Some have called it Skiing the Scum... Utah Lake!

Now having personally experiencing it, I do not think it is that bad. Then again it is not August yet- but in June, it is quite nice.

My good friend Steve invited us out on his boat. and it was a BLAST! Thanks Steve! You are the best!

The Bored List

In my apartment, we have a list on the fridge of things we want to do this summer. We call it the bored list.... it contains, but is not limited to:

Camping
Wack the Cracker
Make a Music Video
Go Boating
Smores on the Bell Tower Lights
Go to Park City
Build a Fort
Lagoon
Float Provo River

Etc.....

Well, I am happy to report- that we are doing well at crossing off little adventures on our list.

Mission!

So the day finally came!

I got my mission call on June 4th.

"Dear Sister Meldrum,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Utah Ogden Mission."

YES THAT IS RIGHT! I am going to Ogden, and I couldn't be happier!

I didn't think I would be this excited to serve a Utah mission, but I am very excited! I was nervous to open my call, but I cant explain the wave of feelings when I did. I know this is the best place for me to go, I know it will be hard, but I also know that it will be GREAT!

I report to the MTC in Provo on Sept 9, 2009!

It will be a busy summer term! I have six weeks of EFY and then on the one week I have off, I am going to Texas to visit my parents and go through the temple. I will then come back to finish up those six weeks of EFY and then after that, I get two weeks until I am back in provo- but this time as a missionary!!!!

I didn't have this in my original plans- but I am glad it is! It couldn't have gone better!

My roommate Erin Jones also got her call the same day! She is going to the Tempe Arizona, Spanish Speaking! Way to go Erin!

I believe I can Fly...

(Yes, I flew southwest... and yes, I take pictures on planes)

Well, in the last few weeks, I have gotten the opportunity to travel a little bit. It has been really nice to get out of provo and see things "outside the bubble". Its good to get some perspective on life.

Well, my first trip was to Oklahoma to see my sister graduate (see below). This was a lot of fun. It was great to see family. I dont get too many opportunities to see than often. I have been so blessed to have such a wonderful family! I love them!

Here are a few pictures of what Oklahoma looks like... not that we will be there too long. My parents are moving down to Texas in a few weeks!

This was a house, I mean someone lived there and collects these huge signs....

Dont blink- you will miss the thriving metropolis of Pawhuska!

Downtown!

There are some stretches of road where you can look out and literally not see anything man made... this picture you can- but it is few and far between.

Prairie Dogs! If you look close you can see about 14 of them peeking out of their wholes!

There was a second trip I got to go on this last weekend. This one was to Seattle Washington. I was going out there to shadow a professional photographer, Kelly Chandler, (http://www.kellychandler.com/blog/). She has amazing pictures and I really love her work. I got to know her through Natania and Brady Quist. She was their wedding photographer.

She was great enough to let me fly out and work with her for Mike and Elizabeth Bergs Wedding. There are a few pictures on her blog about it (as seen above)- go check it out. I mean really... go now- and look! It was a beautiful and busy weekend!

I would have been so lost without a GPS! Thank Parents for letting me borrow it for the weekend!

This is my rental car.... Kinda sweet huh?

This is the ferry...

Me on the Ferry

Natania's BACKYARD....  growing up in Farmington NM, we did NOT get views like this!

Mount Rainier- from the plane

This was flying back into utah...

I truly felt like an independent adult! Getting on a plane, flying into Seattle, getting a rental car, driving to the ferry, going back into downtown Seattle to shoot a wedding, did not get lost once, arranging where to sleep and live, etc.... It was great!
